Museums, galleries, libraries and archives inspire learning simply through the very nature of the collections they hold. Often it is not what people look at, but how people engage that enables deep learning to happen.

The priciples of effective learning should be the same regardless of the setting. It should: - engage thinking, - promote creativity, - promote curiosity, - actively seek to challenge learners to make links.
